When ever I have read a thread & posted on forum and when I receive a personal message, I can access same results on the forum, but I also am getting a copy of all of this in my MSN Hotmail.

I am finding it rather irritating to have to be reminded by MSN as well all of this is in my in-box there and I have to constantly keep deleting these.

I see no good reason to have a double dip going here.
How can I shut this function down or can I ?

Go into Profile and click in the list on he left that says “Notifications and Email” then uncheck the box that says “Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email.”

And in "Notifications and Email", you need to untick "Turn notification on when I post or reply to a topic" (or wording something like that).  If you have notifications set for topics, you can delete some or all of them in that section, too.

It's actually sensible to keep "Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email" ticked - there aren't many of those, and it might be something you needed to know urgently!

Yes, you do!  Under "Notifications and Email", look for the list of "Current Topic Notifications".  Beside each one, there is a box which you can tick, and an Unsubscribe button at the foot of the page.  This will enable you to remove any topics for which you no longer wish to receive notifications.
