I have had good and bad experiences with Delta. I have to say though that I abhor United. They are all pretty much the same in my experience. Depends on the plane you get on and the staff. Everybody has good and bad days and I have caught them on both.
My favorite is Virgin though. I love love love them.
We used to joke delta = don't expect luggage to arrive.
that was a long time ago though

My daughter flies Delta from Atlanta to UK twice a year with no problems.

I have never ever had luggage lost on any airline. I did once get it back in pieces in a big black bag and apologies but that wasn't with delta. At least I got my stuff and a few hundred bucks for the damage. So I wasn't so upset.
