Very Nice feature guys....  Smiley I like it a lot - very useful

However, (there's always one of those isn't there?) I have tried to add a date into it (A wedding Anniversary) and I stopped as it seemed to want to post it as a new topic.

Can anyone tell me how I - and I suspect others - can post a wedding anniversary on the calendar?

Many Thanks

Steve

Hmm.  I'm not sure that there's any easy way for that.  Birthdays are added automatically (assuming that you've entered your date of birth in your profile), but I don't think the software authors envisaged things like wedding anniversaries.  They did envisage things like forum meets, which is why a new topic is automatically attached to a date entered from this side.

Dates can, of course, also be entered by The Team via phpMyAdmin, directly into the relevant table.  It's not something we'd want to do every day, though.  If there was a general feeling that wedding anniversaries would be good, I think we'd want to collect the whole lot in one topic, and then extract them and add them to the calendar in one go.

That's just off the top of my head!

Thanks for the info anyway Molly, I appreciate it.

I suppose this will happen a few times in the next week or so, something which we are all used to may be different or not used at all - for instance we regularly congratulate people on their Birthdays and Wedding Anniversaries (hence this thread!) as the forum grows you may wish to consider this, that is up to you guys, but I thought I would try anyway

Thanks

Well, birthdays aren't a problem - you'll even be alerted to upcoming ones, towards the foot of the main index page.  So you've got that, at least!
