Hi everyone!

I have started my Archeology class last Thursday and it is great. We are starting from 500,000 BC. It is an adult leisure class.

That sounds really interesting!  Are you taking it at a local university?

I feel very fortunate to live in Salisbury, surrounded by a huge amount of prehistoric monuments (Stonehenge is the best known, but there are loads of others).  I've always been interested in archaeology.  If you should ever find yourself in the Salisbury area, I'd recommend checking out the Salisbury and South Wilts Museum (in the cathedral close).  They've got some great displays, particularly of Stonehenge and "the archer" (a body found near Stonehenge).

Ohhhhh, sounds fun! It was always my dream to become an archaeologist when I grow up... but now that I am grown up (and have way too many interests) I would at least like to start to do that as a hobby. That class sounds fantastic - good luck and I hope it is as much fun as it sounds!  Cheesy

That sounds very interesting.  I enjoy ancient history and love the stone circles and cairns, especially in Kilmartin in Scotland.  I've only seen one bog body and that was fascinating.  It's the one at the British Museum - Lindow Man.

Well on Thursday I got to hold onto Roman Mosaic floor tiles, Roman roof tiles and a human vertebra.
