For those of you who may not yet be aware we had a short break holiday this Easter week - well 3 days away anyway!

On day 1 we headed south to Sussex to meet with other members of this forum - Howard & Molly - Mike H and his lovely wife Shonagh - arriving at our hotel between Southampton & Portsmouth at about 8pm.

Day 2 saw us arriving early (before they opened) at the Portsmouth historic dockyards - this is a great day out, only slightly marred by it being cloudy most of the day and then slightly drizzly at the end of the day) - we saw all the major ships both ancient and modern (Ancient being Mary Rose, HMS Victory and HMS Warrior), modern being too many to name, but included all 3 of the UK Aircraft Carrier force. Our ticket included a harbour tour which we dutifully took and saw all the museum exhibitions. We were especially impressed with the audio visual walk through guide to the battle of Trafalgar, this was very well done indeed we thought. All in all a great day and one we can thoroughly recommend.

Day 3 saw us leave the hotel after I attempted a new World record in breakfast buffet demolition   Wink Cheesy A nice steady drive North via the A34 and M40 ending in Milton Keynes and a wonderful visiting with dear friends Cheryl, Rupert and Alex, not of course forgetting our first meeting with Lilly (she likes cakes!)  Grin

Arrive home about 7:30pm and settle down to getting everything away again and ready for work on Monday morning

We had a lovely time and our thanks go to all forum members we met and enjoyed the company of.  Thumb up

For those of you that enjoy that sort of thing - here is a link to some pictures of the times we had (too many to post here)
