Hello all, I've spoken to Howard about advertising for my charity. I have recently become an ambassador for a group called Team Epic and they are raising funds for a project called Where Few Dare. There are 3 charities we are supporting: Help for Heroes, The Dhaka Project and The Charlotte Lucy Trust

what the team are doing are 3 Epic treks for the next 4 years. They are about to embark on their first trek which is traversing the Greenland icecap east to west so they're going to be covering over 300 miles. They are starting this trip on the 14th of April and are hoping to raise £50,000 for Help for Heroes.

This is a very interesting group because as they do these Epic treks they will also be carrying out scientific research. The research they're doing for the Greenland trip is measure the effects of exercise on insulin resistance. Next year the team will be rowing the Tasman sea west to east from Tasmania to New Zealand where they will be raising funds for The Dhaka Project and collecting data on marine debris and how it effects the area around Australia. The 3rd trip which is planned for 2012 is a trip to the south pole to commemorate Captain Scott's Centenary expedition.

Anyway, I'm going to be busy for the next few years trying to get funding not only for their trips but also trying to raise money for the different causes. I am hoping that you all will help me by giving a generous donation. I know times are tough with the credit crunch but every little helps.

To donate to Epic Greenland just click on the link and give what you can. If you want you can leave a comment and say I sent you or wish the guys good luck on their trek.

I look forward to continued support from you all now and in the future. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch with me and if I could ask one more favour....could you please pass this around to anyone you know who might be interested in either sponsoring the team or donating some money.

I am interested on the insaline research.  I will have to check out your charities in depth and see what I can to help.

thanks T, any help whether it's getting the word out there or donating some money or ideas for fund raisers is much appreciated. Right now I'm trying to get my car clubs and Lotus on Track involved because Margaret Bowling who's heading the group has managed to get Jeremy Clarkson to allow us usage of the Top Gear test track. I know most Americans don't like Clarkson, I think I'm one of the few that have always spoken highly of him, anyway, he's one of the main backers and organisers for Help for Heroes.

Just as an update, our first team has made it across the Greenland icecap and we're all very proud of Nial and Murray. It took a lot of guts and stamina and they completed the gruelling 335 mile journey manhauling their 90kg sleds loaded with equipment and supplies.  Applause In August they're going to do it again but with a different team.

As you can see from my other post that we're a long way away from raising the £50k we wanted to raise for Help 4 Heroes so please help us with your kind donations....thank you!
