Meta,

Your townhouse is gorgeous.

Regarding schools for Madeleine, have you considered Montessori?  An advantage is that the classrooms are multiage so she'll be able to learn at her own pace.  Emma went to a Montessori preschool in the US and in the UK and we loved them.  Their approach is more holistic, too, so Emma had dance, yoga, gardening, and Spanish.   One disadvantage I could see would be from going from a structural environment to an environment where kids can select want they want to work on when.

I think Maddy is going into 1st grade, isn't she?

I think Maddy is going into 1st grade, isn't she?

Well hopefully she will. Since she has completed a full year of formal education here and she is reading and such she really should be placed in 1st grade and not kindergarten but it will be up to the school.

I have considered montessori school but the only hing that holds me back is the cost. Most private and montessori schools in Florida seem to cost around $10k a year which I just dont know if I can do. As much as I resisted having my mother find a house for me at least it is one less thing to worry about when I arrive and I can concentrate my efforts on finding the right school for Madeleine.

Meta, the Florida home looks really nice.  I hope you will really enjoy being back in the States and that your move will not be traumatic.

Peace,
Jan
