US Magazines in Costco

Didn't know where to put this - or if it has been posted before, but I'd thought I'd mention it!
I was having a stroll around Costco on Tuesday and noticed that they had a few American magazines. There was a Heat type magazine (might have been US), O magazine (from Oprah) and a cooking magazine by Rachel Ray. There were some others that I didn't recognise too. I bought a few to torture myself with food and other products that I have no access to!
Anyways, I know that they are available at places like Borders - but last time I looked, they were quite expensive. The magazines at Costco didn't cost me more the £2.75 for the most expensive one. So, if you like these magazines you might want to visit Costco!

I'll have a wander the next time I'm there. Which Costco did you go to? Hubs is always trying to hurry me out the door everytime we set foot there. I'm starting to crave that chocolate fudge cake they have there, mmmmm

I miss People magazine...I always thought there was a European or UK version, but haven't spotted it in all the time I've lived here. It was a magazine that I could leave for months on end, but when I did pick it up, I always found it's mix of real people and celebrities to be interesting...anyone ever seen it here??

I liked People as well. The last one I remember reading was a few months ago when one of the expats sent one to me in a care package

I went to the one in Brum. We don't go that often, but when we do we make a bit of an evening out of it (how sad are we?). We'll have a meal and then a wander around and buy things we really don't need in massive quantities!
I'll have to have another look at the magazine I bought - I can't quite remember what it was, but it was a celebrity gossip magazine.
Cherri - I love that fudge cake, I occasionally bring treats in for my colleagues, if they're nice to me
They love the Cheesecake Factory cheesecake from the frozen section.

Heather you sound like us. We tend to go to the one in Manchester on a Sunday afternoon (less people) and it's like a play day. We have actually been really good and have only bought things in bulk that we use all the time. We still have laundry detergent and fabric softner from when we went shopping in August. We try not to go too often because it's never a cheap trip out to Costco. The cakes and bakery stuff is so tempting and I often splurge on the baguettes. I haven't had the cheesecake yet but I think I might buy one and keep it in the freezer once the chocolate fudge cake is gone
I need to make a trip soon, I'm almost out of contact lens solution.

Magazine turned out to be US Weekly. Sorry, no People!
Have you tried Borders?
I can definitely recommend the cheesecake - it is individually sliced as well, so you can chisel away at it. We bought the mega bottle of fabric softener too and toilet paper (though Neil hates buying it because he thinks others will think we have *problems*
). However, this last time we went, we bought micro bean & cheese burritos - I know, I don't deserve to say I'm from Arizona! And we bought sorbet, which I never usually eat, but it came in cute containers, e.g. the coconut sorbet came in a coconut shell, the pineapple came in a hollow pineapple rind...etc so the box just found its way into our cart...

I have Googled and read People magazine online. For celeb goosip I also look at TMZ.com which is updated regularly. I can buy the Enquirer here which I do every week.

you sound like my kind of shopper. I get bamboozled into buying things because it comes in cute packaging. I'm a marketers wet dream when they come up with new packaging. I swear I was a magpie in another life
I like US magazine as well as People
I will definitely have a look next time I'm there.

Jewel! If you haven't found People yet, I was at Birmingham Costco again today and saw People. They had last week's issue as well as next week. They were £2.60 each.
