Well he's done everything else! Oh no... let me rephrase, after years in CIA hands and some time in Guantanamo he's *confessed* to just about everything. Forgive my scepticism at this handily wrapping everything up.

On the BBC Have Your Say message board it seems that most of the posters are of the opinion these confessions were tortured out of him.  I don't disagree.

Ok... my theory....

He is saying he killed or headed all these horrible things even though he didn't because in the end they will kill him and then others will reveal that HE DID NOT do it and have evidence to this and WW III will thus begin. Undecided

He probably figures he'd be better off dead anyway rather than in their custody and he can die and be a  martyr to his people.
