Members of your Forum Support Team have asked me to post the following:
When deleting posts from a thread, please be careful to do so in a sensitive way, such that "widows / orphans" are not caused, that is posts which refer to, or quote, a post which has since been deleted. It can ruin the integrity and coherence of a thread, and make the remaining posts appear irrelevant or even idiotic. For an example of this, have a look at
http://www.ukusforum.com/index.php/topic,1051.0.html , where poor Lotus Freak now looks strangely obsessive about Southern delicacies, because the original context of her posts has been lost!
A better way, if you feel that a post of yours contains information which you would now prefer not to share, is to modify it to delete the content you regret. If that information has already been quoted by someone else, you will have to ask a Forum Support person to amend the other person's post, but please consider doing so only as a last resort.
With best wishes to you all,
Cory
